Frequently Asked Questions
Is the EG8145X7-10 a Wi-Fi 7 ONT?
No. Huawei documents Wi-Fi 6 for this exact model. Its X7 suffix is not a Wi-Fi-generation label.
Can it replace any fiber modem?
No. GPON support alone does not establish interoperability. The operator must accept the ONT and apply the correct authentication and service profiles.
Does the interface speed guarantee internet throughput?
No. Port rates and wireless link rates are not guaranteed internet speeds. The service plan, provisioning, network load and connected equipment all matter.
Is telephone service ready as soon as it is connected?
The POTS interface requires an operator-provisioned voice service. Confirm the voice profile and supported firmware before deployment.
